Bernard J. Dolan of Winchester & Naples, FL formerly of Stoneham, January 23, 2010 at age 76. Beloved husband of Helen (Harrington) Dolan. Devoted father of Judith Dolan and her husband John Green of Birmingham, AL, Kevin Dolan and his wife Maria of Stoneham, Paula Dolan of Los Angeles, CA. Loving son of the late Joan (Lombard) and Bernard Dolan. Cherished grandfather of Connor, Juliana and Christina Dolan & Step-grandchildren, Katie and Patrick Green. Dear brother of Jean of Arlington, Elizabeth of W. Harwich, James of CT and the late Donald Dolan of NY. Also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Bernie graduated from Arlington High School and Northeastern University, where he joined the ROTC. He served in the U.S. Army and was commissioned as a Lt. in the Army Signal Corps. In 1962, Bernie and Bob Jenner founded Dolan-Jenner Industries, Inc. a leading innovator and manufacturer of fiber optics and illumination systems. After selling Dolan-Jenner in 1996, Bernie and Helen enjoyed traveling throughout the world. He was an avid gardener, watercolor painter, tennis player, turned reluctant golf player.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Wednesday at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Bernard’s life in St. Eulalia Church, 50 Ridge Street, Winchester at 10 am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Tuesday from 4-8 pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants will be available. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
