Wolfeboro-----Susan V. Prouty, 85, of 8 Birch Hill Estate Road, died at Huggins Hospital on Tuesday, January 12, 2010. She was the widow of Gardner E. Prouty, Jr. who died in 1992.
Sue was born November 26, 1924 in Lynn, Mass., the daughter of Angelo and Josephine (D’Amato) Van Tresco. She lived in Lynn, Mass. before moving to Wolfeboro, N.H. sixty years ago. She loved animals and caring for friends in need. She also loved to shop for and collect antiques.
Sue is survived by two sons, Kyle Prouty and his wife, Cindy, of San Marcos, Calif. and Ted Prouty and his wife, Lee, of Chatman, Mass.; a daughter, Cheryl Prouty, of Meredith, N.H.; five grandchildren, Alisha Crowell, Tarah Prouty, Christopher Prouty, Lisa Prouty and Pam Prouty; three great grandchildren and three nieces. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents.
There will be no calling hours or funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to one’s local Humane Society.
