Obituary

Doris E. (Benoit) Boucher, age 94, died on January 21, 2010. Doris was born in Brockton on June 12, 1915, the daughter of Rosario and Eva (Gaudette) Benoit. She was a lifelong member of the former Sacred Heart Church. She attended Sacred Heart School and then Brockton High School, graduating in 1934. She was a waitress for many years at the Toll House Restaurant in Whitman and later at the Hotel Bryant in Brockton. She was also employed for several years at Balsam’s Gift Shop in Westgate Mall. She retired at age 74 and moved to Crosby Gardens on North Avenue, where she lived for 20 years. Doris was an accomplished knitter who made sweaters and baby outfits for her family and friends. She was a sports fan who loved watching the Red Sox and Patriots.

She is survived by her four children, Richard A. Boucher and his wife Victoria of East Bridgewater, Barbara A. Brennan and her husband William of Annandale, VA, Gail M. Dupuis and her husband Peter of Brockton and William J. Boucher and his partner Bart Rawlinson of Forestville, CA. She leaves 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Armand, Arthur, Raymond, Ernest, and Robert Benoit and her sister Beatrice Hickey.

Funeral from Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday at 8am. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Hours Sunday 4-7pm.
