Rita M. (Aliot) Gifford age 66 of Derry, NH, died peacefully Tuesday at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH.
She was born in Somerville, MA, grew up and was educated in Billerica, MA. She was a resident of Derry for over 40 years.
Rita was a bus driver for Rockingham Community Action. She had previously worked for Hadco in Derry, NH for 15 years. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 1617 in Derry, NH, where she served as past President & Treasurer. She was also a past District President. Rita enjoyed shopping, especially for her grandchildren and great grandsons. Her biggest passion was Bingo. She was an avid bingo player at Taylor’s Barn in Windham, NH.
She was predeceased by her husband David Gifford

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 11 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Derry, NH. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Derry.
Calling hours will be held Monday, Jan. 25 from 4-8 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH.
