Robert E. Carlson, 60, a lifelong resident of East Walpole passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family on Tuesday January 19, 2010 at the Boston Center for Rehabilitation.
Born in Norwood, MA on December 15, 1949 he was a dear son of the late Oscar T. and Anne E. (Rozuck) Carlson.
Bobby grew up in East Walpole, was educated in Walpole public schools and was a 1967 graduate of Walpole High School. He furthered his education and graduated form the Wentworth College of Technology receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics Engineering.
For over 35 years he was employed in the Electronics Engineering Department at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.
Bobby’s passion in life was electronics. He also was an avid model railroad train builder and was quite skilled in automotive engine repair. His other pastimes included reading, of which subjects pertaining to the environment, natural resources and science being among his favorites. Family and friends were another important part of Bob’s life.
He was the devoted brother of Everett A. Carlson of Cambridge and the late Kenneth O. Carlson. He was the loving nephew of Mary Rich of Walpole and Gertrude Presentato of Mansfield. Bob is also survived by his special sister in law Carol Carlson of Mansfield and his cherished nieces Lisa Carlson of Mansfield and Jennifer of North Attleboro and several cousins.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday January 26th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield. Burial will follow in the East Walpole Cemetery, Walpole.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday January 25th from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
