Claire M. Levasseur 78, of Kennedy St. died Tuesday at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of Roland J. Levasseur. Mrs. Levasseur, a lifelong city resident, was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Eugene and Leona (Bilodeau) Morel. Mrs. Levasseur was employed by the State of RI for thirty -five years, and worked for the department of Motor Vehicles, TDI, and retired as a claim examiner for the Department of Employment Security. She was a founding member of Les Enfants Marie at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Parish. She loved to do crossword puzzles and was an avid reader.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons Marc R. Levasseur of N. Smithfield, and Paul Levasseur of Cumberland, and four grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will be held in Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland. Visiting hours are Friday 4-7 PM.
