William Douglas Martin, 53, of Ravenel, husband of Sonja S. Roberts, died Sunday, January 17, 2010.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 11 o’clock at Adams Run Baptist Church. Burial will be private. Friends may visit at the church Wedensday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the John Ancrum SPCA, 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29405.
Doug was born December 23, 1956 in Davidson County, Tennessee, son of Mildred Haskins of Hermitage, Tennessee and the late Alvin Douglas Martin. He attended Hendersonville High School. He was self employed as a carpenter who loved fishing, helping others and making everyone happy.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are: 2 daughters: Amber Martin and Marissa Martin, 1 son: Brandon Martin. 1 Step daughter: Michelle Smith and 2 step grandsons: John and Wyatt. 2 brothers and 4 sisters: Johnny “Reb” Martin (Ann) of Edisto Island, Joyce Salter (Mike) of Hendersonville, TN, LaDonna Ellis of Hendersonville, TN, Alvin Lee Martin of Johns Island, Shelia Sircy (Keith) of Springfield, TN, and Lisa Napier (Shannon) of Whitehouse, TN, several nieces and nephews.
