Abington – Mary C. (Frazier) DeCoste 91 died Monday January 18 after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife for 71 years of the late Joseph F. DeCoste, and daughter of the late Hector and Louise (Cormier) Frazier.
Mary was brought up in Quincy and attended Quincy schools. She had been a longtime resident of East Bridgewater before moving to Abington 15 years ago.
For over twenty years she had worked as a housekeeper for the Mildred Alford Nursing Home in Abington, retiring in 1997.
She was a devoted wife and mother and her greatest joy came from the time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving children Joseph F. DeCoste of Embden, ME, Carol A. DeCoste of Malden, and Joan F. DeCoste of Arlington, VA and her sister Margaret Little of Dorchester. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Mary Dilba and was predeceased by four brothers and one sister.
Her funeral service will be held Friday January 22 at 7:45 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a mass at 9 AM in St. Bridget Church, Abington. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours are omitted by request of the family.
