WORCESTER__Anna M. (Stakun) Luikey, 95, of Worcester, died Saturday, January 16, 2010 in Saint Francis Home, 101 Plantation St. Her husband, Peter J. Luikey died in 1966.
She leaves two sons, Richard P. Luikey Sr., and his wife, Carol and Robert J. Luikey and his wife, Jo Ann, all of Millbury; three grandchildren, Christine Roy and her husband, Robert of Arlington, VA., Richard P. Luikey, Jr., and his wife, Kelly of Beaufort , S.C., and Peter Luikey of Millbury; two great-grandchildren, Tristan M. Luikey and Arden C. Luikey, both of South Carolina; three sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph "Vittie" Stakun and a sister, Antoinette Jay. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Joseph and Christina (Chapulis) Stakun .
Mrs. Luikey and her husband owned and operated Pete's Bait Shop in Worcester for many years. She also worked as a sales clerk for Jordan Marsh Co. She graduated from David Hale Fanning Girls Trade High School and was a former member of Our Lady of Vilna Church. Anna was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She took pride in her home and family which were the centers of her life.
The funeral will be held on Friday, January 22, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart - Saint Catherine of Sweden Parish at Sacred Heart Church, 600 Cambridge St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday, January 21, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
