Obituary

WORCESTER
Thomas C. Petrella, 54, of Worcester died on Sunday, January 17 at his home after a long battle with mental illness and leukemia.
He is survived by his parents, Frank and Eleanor Jane (McGinley) Petrella; three sisters, Bonnie Jean Croteau and her husband Paul and Teresa Wheeler and her husband Walter, all of Auburn and Karen Vogelsberger and her husband Raimund of Frankfurt, Germany; a brother, John Petrella and his wife Siobhan (Loughlin) Petrella of Worcester; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, James in 2004.
He was born in South Bend, IN and lived most of his life in Worcester. He was a graduate of Burncoat High School and attended the College of the Holy Cross. While in high school, he was a three year member of both the varsity baseball and basketball teams. While at Holy Cross, he was a member of the freshman baseball team. For many years, he was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed hiking and camping.
Tom’s family gratefully acknowledges the fine care and services he received from The Bridge, Notre Dame Hospice Care and especially Drs. Arthur Church and James P. Walsh.
