Albertine Giard 85, formerly of Mendon Rd., died Sunday at Bayberry Commons in Burrillville. She was the wife of the late Raymond R. Giard. Mrs. Giard was born in Woonsocket a daughter of the late Celestin and Albertine (Couture) Charette. She worked in customer service for over forty years at Giard's Cleaners that was owned and operated by her late husband and his brother.
Mrs. Giard is survived by five children, Raymond L. Giard, Lorraine Giard, Doris Sweeney and Claire Giard all of Woonsocket, and Roger Giard of Chepachet, five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Celestin, Pete, Emile, George and Alice Charette, and Cecile Martin.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in All Saints Church, Rathbun St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Thursday 6-8 PM.
