Obituary

Worcester – Mr. Joseph J. Ritacco, 91, passed away Thursday January 14th at the Lutheran Home.

Survived by his three daughters, Marilyn A. Ritacco, Donna M. Raillo both of Worcester, Karen A. Larkin and her husband Vern of Maine; two grandchildren, Kimberly Boyd and her husband Wayne of Raynham, Christy Power and her husband Robert of Worcester, two great grandchildren, Nathan and Neala Boyd; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Ritacco was predeceased by his brothers, Ralph, Charles, Frank, and Augustine and his sister, Mary Bolduc.

He was born October 31, 1918 in Worcester, Massachusetts a son of the late Thomas and Josephine (DiGacimo) Ritacco. Husband of forty-nine years to the late Bernice B. Bartnicki.

A lifelong resident, Mr. Ritacco was educated through the Worcester Schools. He served his country in the Army with the 6th Phototech squadron in the Southwest Pacific Theatre for 21 months during World War II, being honorably discharged in 1946.

He worked at Wyman Gordon for over thirty years as a machine operator. Mr. Ritacco was a parishoner of St Paul’s Cathedral of Worcester, a member of the Pope John XXIII Knights of Columbus, and the Ionic Ave Boys Club.

The Ritacco family wishes to thank Summit Elder Services, and the wonderful staff at the Lutheran Home.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday January 19th from FAZIO FUNERAL HOME 9 Branch St Worcester, to be followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Paul Cathedral at 10am.
