Obituary

Philip DeSanto, age 68, of Medford, died suddenly Sunday morning at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Philip was raised in the North End and Medford, the son of the late Domenic and the late Catherine (Zingara) DeSanto. For much of his life, Phil worked as a floor layer with the Carpenter’s Union Local 2168. After his retirement, he worked as a custodian at Medford’s elementary schools where he enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the children. Devoted to his family and friends, Philip enjoyed traveling with his wife on their many vacations.

In addition to his wife, Carol (Tuberosa) DeSanto, Phil is survived by his children: Carolyn DeSanto-McCabe of Reading, Philip J. DeSanto of Medford, Paul D. DeSanto of East Boston, Joseph P. DeSanto of Medford, the late Josephine and William DeSanto. He was a loving grandfather to Andrew, Matthew, Brian, Janelle, Jeffrey, Zackary and also leaves many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Thursday, January, 21st at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
