TAUNTON – Angelo P. Loura, 85, died at his Taunton home, surrounded by his family, on Jan. 15, 2010.
He was the husband of Maria (Chaves) Loura and the late Helen (Figueiredo) Loura.
Born and raised in Santa Maria, Azores, he was the son of the late Antonio P. and Maria (Pereira) Loura.
Mr. Loura served in the Portuguese Army, and later moved to the Taunton area with his family in 1960.
He was a self-employed finish carpenter for many years, continuing to work until two years ago.
Mr. Loura was a communicant of St. Jude The Apostle Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Antonio C. and John C. Loura, both of Taunton, and Daniel P. Loura of Bridgewater; four daughters, Mary A. DeChaves, Filomena C. Braga, and Lina-Marie Chaves, all of Bridgewater, and Mary Ann Cotta of Brockton; fifteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Joseph Loura and brother of the late Joseph, Manuel, John and Antonio Loura, and the late Maria Bairos, Ana Sousa, Emilia Carvalho, Gloria Cruz, and Rosa Cabral.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, on Wednesday, Jan. 20th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Jude The Apostle Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Jan. 19th from 5 to 8 p.m.
