Decker, Claude A., born September 7, 1918, peacefully entered into the arms of Jesus on , January 16, 2010.
He is preceded in death by his children, Rickey and Claudia.
Left to cherish his memory is Gwen, his wife of 63 years; children, Patricia (Bob), Barbara (Kathy), Rita (Mac), Jimmy (Joanna); grandchildren, Rebecca (Rashad), Adam (Kearney), John-Claude (Laura), Robbie, Hayden, and Alexandra; great grandchildren, Soleil, Jack, and David; and a host of friends and caregivers.
Claude was an active member of the Pleasure Ridge Park United Methodist Church for over 40 years. He was a WWII Navy veteran and was also active in his community serving as a Pleasure Ridge Park High School Athletic Booster, AAU Swim Judge, Dare to Care volunteer, Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Department, and recipients of the KDE school volunteer Award and the JCPS Golden Apple Award.
Funeral service will be 11am Wednesday, January 20 at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens, West.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 19 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the funeral home.
