EAST TAUNTON - Joseph Lima, an East Taunton resident for many years, was reunited in heaven with his wife, the late Rena (Nadeau) Lima, on January 16, 2010.
He was 87 years old.
Born on May 28, 1922 in East Taunton, he was the son of the late Manuel and Francis (Cardoza) Lima.
He leaves three sons, Ronald Lima and his wife Maureen, Edward Lima and his wife Marian, and Steven Lima; three daughters, Nancy Bumbaugh, Elaine Kullas and her husband Walter, and Susan Madureira; seven grandchildren, Pamela Vaz, Paula Thomas, Michele Andrews, Edward Lima, Kerri Crowley, Kristin Lopes and Alexander Madureira; sixteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased in death by his two brothers, John and Manuel Lima; and his granddaughter, Rhonda Goonan.
Besides being a loving husband, father, and grandfather, Joe was also an avid golfer, hitting no less than three holes-in-one during his golfing career.
He was the owner of the local East Taunton barbershop for many years where his family and friends gathered to solve the problems of the world.
He also retired following a near lifetime career from Grossman’s of Taunton.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Thursday, Jan. 21st at 8: 45 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Holy Family Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Jan. 20th from 4 to 7 p.m.
