Obituary

Alice S. McNary, 87, passed away at home in Malden on January 13th, 2010. She was born in Cambridge on December 4th, 1922 to her parents Ferdinand and Sophie Nowosielski. Alice was raised and educated in East Cambridge. She has been a resident of Malden since 1964. Alice was a homemaker who spent many years raising her children and played an important role in helping to raise and nurture her grandchildren. She was an avid gardener who also enjoyed cooking and the many trips she took with friends and family. Alice was also a member of the Council on Aging in Cambridge for many years. She is survived by her children; Victor McNary Jr. and his wife Judy of Methuen, Lea Savageau of Manchester, NH, David McNary and his wife Moire of Lowell, Amy Giurleo of Lowell and Samuel McNary and his wife Pauline of Malden and by her sister-in-law Florence Nowosielski of Cambridge. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Alice was predeceased by her husband Victor McNary; by her son Joseph McNary and by her brothers Edward and Joseph Nowosielski. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service held at the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Wednesday January 20th at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445.
