Martha E. Shriner, 91, of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, widow of Robert F. Shriner, Sr. died Thursday, January 14, 2010 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held Saturday morning at 11 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens, North Charleston.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday morning from 10 o’clock until the hour of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: White Oak Manor, Activity Department, 716 Sipes Street, Kings Mountain, NC 28086 and Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wondover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
Mrs. Shriner was born June 23, 1918 in Norfolk, Virginia, daughter of the late Charles and Alice Dant. She attended schools in Norfolk, Virginia. She was a kindergarten teacher; working with special needs children.
Surviving are: 1 son: David Shriner (Jo) of Seneca, SC, 1 daughter: Sue Gainey of Kings Mountain, NC, 1 grandson: Mark Taylor (Sheryl) of Charleston, SC, 2 grandaughters: Melanie Petrick of Summerville, SC and Dawn Watts (Roger) of Ellenboro, NC, 5 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, son-in-law: Frank Turner of Summerville, SC.
She was predeceased by son: Robert F. Shriner, Jr., daughter: Martha L. Turner and grandson: Marion Taylor, III.
