Worcester – Eugene J. Levasseur; 81, of Worcester died on Wednesday, January 13th in his home after a brief illness. His wife of 51 years Ann (Galvin) Levasseur died on December 2nd, 2009.
He is survived by two sons Mark C. Levasseur and Eugene J. Levasseur Jr. both of Worcester; four daughters Ann Marie Malley of Auburn, Patricia Driscoll of Leominster, Rose Marie Pugliano of Milford and Teresa Foulkrod of Auburn; two brothers Paul “Al” Levasseur of Worcester and Philip Levasseur of Stuart, FL; a sister Jeannette Jefferson of Hobes Sound, FL; 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Eugene was born in Rumford, ME son of the late Roland and Anna (Bourgea) Levasseur and is predeceased by three brothers Raymond, Roland and Gerard Levasseur.
Mr. Levasseur is a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean War. He was a self employed landscaping contractor for over 40 years and was most happy spending time with his wife and children. He was a member of the 1954 US Ski Jumping Training Squad and won a number of ski jumping tournaments in the 1940’s and 50’s. He also loved reading the teachings of Christ.
