Thomas "Frank" Dunn, 85, of Hudson, NH died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH. Mr. Dunn was born in Passage West County Cork, Ireland, on September 7, 1924, a son of the late John D. and Catherine (Fitzpatrick) Dunn. He was a resident of Hudson, formerly living in Everett, MA, where he graduated from Everett High School. Mr. Dunn was a WWII Navy veteran, and a member of the American Legion Post #27 in Londonderry. He had been employed as an operations manager for Exxon in Everett for 37 years, retiring in 1982. Following retirement, he owned and operated the Exxon gas station in Londonderry. Mr. Dunn was a communicant of St. Mark Church in Londonderry and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed time with his family, Sunday drives with his wife, and he cherished the memories of many winter ski seasons at Saddleback Mountain with his family. Mr. Dunn was a devoted and loving grandfather of ten, which brought him endless joy.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Louise C. (Leahy) Dunn of Hudson, two sons, Thomas F. Dunn, Jr. and wife Joanna of Franklin, MA, John Dunn and wife Keri of Manchester; two daughters, Janice Jasek and husband George of Londonderry, Mary Rider and husband Walter of Germantown, TN; ten grandchildren; one brother, D. Noel Dunn of Lynnfield, MA; two sisters, Eileen Zimmerman and Muriel Hurley, both of Everett, MA; as well as many special nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by two brothers, Allan and Kevin Dunn, and a sister, Winifred Grace.
Calling hours were held on Friday, January 15th from 3 - 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday at 11:00am in St. Marks Church, 1 South Rd., Londonderry. The burial will be in the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen at a later date.
