Alfred J. Bonaccorsi, age 75, life-long resident of Wilmington, passed away January 12th, in his home following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Joan M. (Finnerty).Born in Medford he was the son of the late Alfred and Ann (Catarini) Bonaccorsi.
" Fred" as he was known by to his family and friends was a retired truck driver and worked for the J.J. Nissen Bread Co. for more than 25 years and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 25. Fred was raised and educated in Wilmington and was a 1952 graduate of Wilmington High School. Throughout his life, Fred enjoyed listening to music and dancing, especially Jazz and the Blues. He loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed salt-water fishing with family and friends. He also enjoyed traveling to Foxwoods Casino or to Lincoln Park to try his luck. Mostly devoted to his loving family and his many wonderful neighbors, who were his extended family, He cherished spending time with them and will be greatly missed.
Fred is survived by his children, Terese Silva and her husband Michael of Haverhill, Dianne Hagopian and her husband Stephen of Boston, and Steve Bonaccorsi of Wilmington. He was the loving grampa of Jenna Cesere of No. Andover, Alec and Sophia Bonaccorsi of Wilmington. He is also survived by his sister, Marie Covino and her husband George of Medford, brother and sister-in-law Audrey and Ed Bolieau of Marlboro.
A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON, Sunday, January 17th, at 5 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family prior to the service from 1 thru 5 p.m. Interment services will be private. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Fred's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942
