Domenico Galiano
...formerly of Tewksbury; 62
HAVERHILL - Domenico Galiano, age 62, a former Tewksbury resident, died Monday evening, January 11, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, following a courageous two year battle with lung cancer. He was the long time companion of Linda Cooper of Haverhill.
He was born in Sicily, Italy, January 24, 1947, a son of the late Colegero and Rosa Galiano, and emigrated to the U.S. at age 19. He settled in New York, then moved to Tewksbury where he raised his family. He had lived in Haverhill for the past seven years.
He worked as a Supervisor for the Majilite Corp, in Dracut.
Despite his failing health, he completed a recent trip to Sicily, on a pilgrimage to his birthplace and to say farewell to his family members remaining in Sicily.
Domenico was proud to have been a friend to Bill Wilson for the past 16 years.
Besides Linda Cooper, he is survived by three children, Domenick C. Galiano, Annmarie R. Galiano and her fiance, Victor Pimentel all of Tewksbury, and Christine Decker of Woburn; four grandchildren, Nicholas D. Galiano, Anthony D. Galiano, Julia M. Decker, and Cynthia M. Decker; three siblings, Lia, Salvatore, and Dino who remain in Sicily; and his former wife, Anna (Esposito) Galiano of Tewksbury.
His funeral service was held Friday evening, Jan. 15, in the funeral home. Memorials to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 will be appreciated.
