Cecile C. Cote, 88, formerly of Crepeau Court, died Sunday in The Friendly Home. She was the former wife of the late Merico “Tony” Rovedo.
Born in St. Edmond, P.Q. Canada, she was a daughter of the late Hormisdas and Arthemise (Brunelle) Cote. She came to the United States as a child and was raised in Woonsocket. She lived most of her life in Woonsocket also resided in Nasonville and Central Falls for several years before returning to the city.
Cecile worked as a supervisor for Finklestien's for over 25 years before her retirement. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed participating in day trips. She was a longtime communicant of Precious Blood Parish.
She is survived by her niece and caregiver, Jeannette L. Dufresne and her husband Richard, of Woonsocket, and several nieces and nephews and their families. She was the sister of the late Alcide, Aldor, Leodor, Treffle, and Roger Cote.
Her funeral will be Thursday at 8:30 am from the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Thursday morning from 8:30 – 9:45 am prior to Mass.
