Theresa M. Michaud, 85, of Willow St. Woonsocket, died Sunday afternoon at Oakland Grove Home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Leo R. Michaud with whom she shared 62 years of marriage at the time of his passing.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Heomengilde and Rose (Adam) Lamothe. She was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mrs. Michaud worked in the housekeeping department at Colonial Apartments, and in her earlier years worked at Narragansett Knitting and the Manville-Jenckes mills.
She enjoyed traveling and dining out. She was a longtime communicant of Precious Blood Parish.
Theresa’s life revolved around her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and especially enjoyed her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by two sons, Gerard A. Michaud and his wife Jeannine, and Albert J. Michaud, and a daughter, Muriel J. Barry and her husband Raymond, all of Woonsocket. She was the sister of the late Armand and Joseph Lamothe, and Fabiola Henault. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be Friday at 9:00 am from the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-8 pm.
