SHREWSBURY-Ruth A. (Pillsbury) Lafond, 81, formerly of Coes Pond Village, 39 First Street died Friday, September 19th in Shrewsbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Her husband, Robert A. Lafond died in 1974. She leaves her beloved daughter, Debra A. Ballantine of Chelsea; a sister, Thelma Nielson of Greene, ME; 2 grandsons, Robert Lafond and Sean Lafond both of N. Brookfield; a great grandson, Brandon Lafond of N. Brookfield; several nephews and nieces. 3 brothers, George Pillsbury, Robert Pillsbury and George Elmer Pillsbury and a sister, Hazel Margaret Pillsbury predeceased her.
She was born in Lewiston, ME the daughter of Elmer and Hazel (Harris) Pillsbury. Mrs. Lafond worked as a waitress for the White House Restaurant for many years. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church and was an avid bingo player.
The funeral service will be at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, September 23rd in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are from 10:00 until 11:30 AM the morning of the funeral.
