Nancy J. (Barron) Marston, 72, of Hernando, Florida formerly of Mansfield passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on Monday January 11, 2010 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of Lawrence D. Marston, Sr. to whom she was wed on June 15, 1957.
Born in Malden, MA on October 3, 1937 she was a daughter of the late Albert J. and Bertha (LaPierre) Barron.
Nancy grew up and was educated in Malden. She was a retired Office Manager having worked at Ferestien Feed & Farm Supply in Foxboro for over 15 years prior to retiring. She had previously worked at the former Mansfield Feed & Farm Supply in Mansfield.
A resident of Hernando for the past 9 years Mrs. Marston had formerly made her home in Mansfield for 27 years.
An avid golfer, Nancy was a member of the Foxboro Country Club and when younger was an accomplished tennis player and former member of the Junior Whiteman Tennis Club in Malden.
Nancy’s family was the essence of her life; she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren to whom she was affectionately known as “GG”. Nancy’s close network of friends was also an important part of her life.
In addition to her beloved husband of over 52 years she is also survived by her devoted children Donna L. Coogan and her husband Bryan of Bethel, Ohio, Vickie L. Champagne and her husband Ronnie of Taunton and Lawrence D. Marston, Jr. and his wife Judith of Mansfield. She was the sister of June Hench of Fayetteville, North Carolina and the late Eleanor Boyajian and Donald Barron. Mrs. Marston is also survived by her adoring grandchildren Melissa F. Konapacki and Stacy A. Ericson both of Taunton, Matthew L. Polvado of Cumberland, RI, United States Army Private Jeffrey R. Polvado of Fort Hood, Texas and Dylan N. Marston of Mansfield. She is also survived by her cherished great grandchildren Daniel, Brayden, Abbey, Nicholas, Skyler, Bailey and Emma and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday January 16th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday January 15th from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Nancy’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
