KOHL, RETIRED SFC CLAIR J. "SGT" "POP" 81, of Louisville, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2010.
Mr. Kohl was born July 20, 1928, in Lisbon, IA, the son of Ira J. and Jennie Kohl.
He was a retired Sgt. First Class with the U.S. Army, where he served for 24 years, having served in Korea and Vietnam.
Mr. Kohl also is a retired employee of Philip Morris.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dora Price Kohl; grandson, Bradley Alan Kohl; and brothers, Meril M. and Ivan Kohl.
Survivors include his sons, Wes Kohl (Debbie), Donald G. Kohl, Sr. (Ruby), and Joseph R. Kohl, Sr. (Sandi); daughter, Jenney E. Adams; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
Funeral services will be noon Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Highland Memory Gardens, Mt. Washington, KY. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday.
