Proud Korean War Veteran
Augusta, GA – Wilton Dalhart (Jay) Holmes, 77, was faithfully called home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 8, 2010.
Jay was a wonderful and loving husband of 46 years to his wife, Sue Holmes, a dedicated father of four children, Janie (Philip), James, Samuel, and John, who he is joining in heaven. The Lord blessed Jay with 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and his sister, Rosie Hall.
As a tank driver in the Korean War he proudly served our country with honors setting and example for his sons to follow.Jay loved to play golf, watch sports, and take care of his family. He will be loved and missed dearly.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 11, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Platt’s Crawford Avenue chapel with Rev. Brian LaFavor officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
