Minerva G. Beal, 98, of Londonderry, NH, died Friday, January 8, 2010 in her home. Mrs. Beal was born in Campton, NH on October 16, 1911, a daughter of the late William J. and Hazel (Smith) Gallagher . She was a resident of Londonderry for the past 37 years, formerly living in Manchester, NH. Mrs. Beal was a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Gordon College. She was a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union. She and her husband were directors and house parents at the Boylston Home for Girls in Manchester, NH from 1965 - 1974. Prior to the Boylston Home, she and her husband served a number of Churches in NH, Maine, Vermont and New York. In all, she and her husband served Churches for over 55 years.
She is survived by three sons, Rev. David Beal of Spruce Head, ME, Rev. John Beal, and Paul Beal, both of Londonderry; her foster daughter and caregiver, Elizabeth Kelly of Londonderry; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great grandson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Earl Beal in 1995, her daughter, June Beal in 2009, her son Roger Beal, and one grandchild in 1994.
Calling hours were held on Sunday, January 10th from 1 - 3pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A funeral service followed at 3:00pm in the funeral home. The burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Londonderry in the Spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the Child Evangelism Fellowship, 11 Brookwood Dr., Concord, NH 03301-1800.
