Methuen, Ma. - Virginia K. (Bartose) Coco, 69, died January 5, 2010 at Caritas Holy Family Hospital.
Virginia was born in North Andover, the daughter of the late John and Stacia (Griva) Bartose. When her family moved to Methuen she was educated and then a graduate of Tenney High School.
For many years Mrs. Coco was the Compensation Manager at the Raytheon Co. of Andover before her retirement.
She was a Communicant of Saint Monica Church in Methuen. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially during the summer months, visiting various beaches. Virginia’s family was her life and caring for them was her greatest joy. She was considered to be one of the best grand and great-grandmothers.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years; retired Lawrence Police Officer Salvatore A. Coco, and their children Anthony Coco, of Lowell, Kimberly and Darren Coco of Methuen, her daughter-in-law Shelley Coco of Methuen, a sister Patricia and her husband Maurice Grasso of Methuen, and a brother John and his wife Ann Bartose of Methuen, 6 grandchildren; Dustin, Darren Jr., Amanda, Jessica, Kendra, and Kyle, as well as one great-grandchild Cole.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock in Saint Monica Church with entombment to follow in St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Mausoleum.
Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects on Sunday evening from 7-9 PM and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
