Avon- Beverly T. (Smart) Ryan, of Avon, formerly of Stoughton and Somerville,MA passed Away Tuesday September 16,2003 at Falmouth Hospital, after a brief illness. She was 86 years old. She was the loving wife of the late David D. Ryan.
Born in Somerville,MA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph D. Smart and Idene M. (Nichols). She was raised in Somerville, and attended Somerville public schools. She was a 1934 graduate of Somerville High School.
Mrs. Ryan was employed as a secretary at Mainco Supply in Canton,MA for many years.
She attended the Avon Baptist Church and enjoyed Line-dancing at St. Michaels Church, also in Avon. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and loved her family very much.
She is survived by her two daughters: Marcia E. O’Neil of Falmouth,MA and Linda B. Ryan of Rockport,MA. She was the loving grandmother of Jeanne L. Powell of Mullicahill,NJ, Kathryn M. Marando of Norton,MA and Steven R. O’Neil of Cambridge,MA. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
Her Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM Saturday September 20,2003 from the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. Burial will follow in Mt. PleasantCemetery, Arlington,MA. Visiting hours are on Friday September 19,2003, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Judes Childrens Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis,TN would be appreciated.
