In Taunton, January 6, 2010, Margaret “Minnie” Minerva Stevens, age 72 died after a lengthy illness in Morton Hospital. Minnie was born in Taunton to her late parents Charles and Margaret (Hard) Stevens. Minnie attended Taunton schools, graduated from T.H.S. and later from Union Hospital School of Nursing in 1958. She retired after 50 years of service in nursing from Taunton State Hospital, and also worked at Bridgewater State Hospital and Senior Care with Home Instea, 14 years at Morton Hospital and 2 years at the Brockton Veterans Hospital. She enjoyed being a Red Sox fan, knitting, animals, especially her beloved friend and dog Max. Minnie leaves her dear friend Lillian Mangham of Taunton. Her late brothers Charles, William and Urban Stevens. Her nieces and nephews Karen Stevens, Jeffrey, Charles, Peter, Mark, David and Bryan Stevens and the late Kevin Stevens. Also many great nieces and nephews. A funeral home service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 13th at 11:30am. Visiting hours are prior to the service from 10-11:30am. in the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. in Taunton. Interment is private at the request of the family.
