Lou Ann West, 70, of Lowell Road, Hudson, NH died Thursday January 17, 2002 at the Laurel Place in Hudson, NH following a lengthy illness. She was born on April 10, 1931 in Grafton, West Virginia, the daughter of William and Amelia Copp. Mrs. West was a resident of Hudson, NH since May 1999, formerly living in Detroit, Michigan. She was a graduate of Mount Chantal Academy for Girls, Wheeling, West Virginia, Class of 1950. She was a communicant of St. Matthew’s Church in Detroit, Mich. She was a den leader for many years for the Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts. She was an avid reader and quilter. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Philip B. West in 1990 and by her son Philip M. West in 1999.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Lucille J. West-Jenkins and her husband Thomas Jenkins, of Nashua, NH, two grandsons, Chad W. West, Philip R. West, both of Nashua, NH, one granddaughter, Amelia L. West, of Nashua, NH, brother and sister-in law Bernard and Loretta West, of Gaylord, Mich., many nieces, grandnieces and grandnephews.
There will be no calling hours. Following cremation, a memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday February 18, 2002 at 12:00PM at St. Katherine’s Church, Hudson, NH. Burial will be in the spring in Wheeling, West Virginia. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, NH Affiliate, 20 Merrimack Street, Suite 1, Manchester, NH 03101-2244. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry is handling the arrangements.
