Cosmo “Cosi” DeVelis, 89 of Medford, died Tuesday in the Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, MA.
Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late Francesca (DiLuna) and Cosmo DeVelis.
Cosmo worked at his family business, the United National Grocery Store in Somerville most of his life. After his retirement he worked part time at the Ritz Camera Store at the Burlington Mall. He was a member of the Arlington Retired Men’s Club and the Holy Name Society.
Beloved husband of 64 years to the late Mary I. (Buono) DeVelis. Devoted father of Rosanne DeVelis-Colcord of Andover, and Christine DeVelis-Hill of Wayland. Loving grandfather of Alexander Joseph Hill, Victoria Rose Hill, and Emma Rose Colcord. Brother of Josephine Arcanti of Medford, and Tina Bussolari of Somerville.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Saturday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 10 AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Friday 4-7.
Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
