Richard D'Allesandro, a long-time Medford resident died Sunday night at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. He was 75.
Richard was born in Boston, the son of the late Louis and the late Marion (Viscomi) D'Allesandro. A star football player at Medford High, Richard was inducted into the Mustang Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed a brief professional career, which included time with the Patriots.
For many years Richard worked with Burnham Boiler Mfg., a company based in Lancaster Pennsylvania. He rose through the ranks to be President of the North East Division. Richard was dedicated to his family and many friends. He enjoyed summers on Cape Cod at his home in Falmouth. He was also a great golf enthusiast.
He was the beloved husband of Pauline (Lanni) D'Allesandro. He was a devoted father to Marion Augusta of Mashpee. He was a loving grandfather to Richard Augusta and Jackie Augusta and a loving great-grandfather to Haydenn Augusta. He was a dear brother to Senator Louis D'Allesandro of Manchester, NH, Paul D'Allesandro of Winchester and the late Henry D’Allesandro.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
