Kathryn Jean Martin, 58, of Summerville, wife of Colin Leslie Martin died Monday, January 4, 2010 at her residence.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 11 o’clock at Summerville Presbyterian Church.

Kathryn was born June 12, 1951 in Larned, Kansas, daughter of the late Morrell Dean Ruehlen and Marjorie Ruehlen Cole. She was a graduate of Lawrence High School in Lawrence, Kansas. She was an avid gardener, had a great passion for caring for others and was well known for rescuing homeless animals. She was a compassionate and dedicated animal care technician with the Potter Animal League in Newport, Rhode Island. In Summerville she was much loved by staff and parents while serving as an infant care specialist with The Toy Box Daycare Center. She was a member of Summerville Presbyterian Church where she faithfully served in many capacities, most recently in elder companionship.
Surviving in addition to her husband are: 1 sister: Linda Jo Field (Michael) of Summerville, 6 nephews: Scott Field, Justin Field, Kyle Field, Chris Morris, Justin Morris and Darin Morris, 3 grand nieces, 1 grand nephew, parents-in-law: Chuck and Lorene Hoffman, 1 sister-in-law: Lana Morris, 1 step brother-in-law: Don Hoffman, 1 step sister-in-law, Sandy DuCray, and her 4 beloved feline friends: Floyd, Sugar Ray, Peggy Sue and Dusty.
