WORCESTER - Robert C. "Buttons Bob" Belair, 77, of 49 Pleasant Valley Drive. died September 16 in UMASS Medical Center after a long illness.

He leaves his wife of 51 years Laura Eva (Rossi) Belair, two daughters Susan Blackmon of Plantersville, TX and Patricia Zwicker of Worcester; two sons Thomas Belair of Leicester and Michael Belair of Worcester. A daughter Lorraine Chavez predeceased him 22 years ago. He leaves 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and his A.A. Family. He was born in Worcester son of Flora (Belair) Gardephe.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was an active member of A.A. Program for 27 years. He was an inspiration to many. His hobby was making buttons for everyone he loved. He worked for J.S. Prunier & Sons as a construction worker for over 35 years.

Funeral will be held on Saturday, September 20 at 10 AM in Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.Royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond Street. Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 19 from 5 to 8 pm. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Adcare Hospital, 107 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA 01605 or Jeremiah's Inn, 1059 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01603.
