Laurence W. Riley, a longtime resident of Andover, Massachusetts, died at the Lawrence General Hospital on Thursday, December 31, 2009. He was 71 years old.
He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on January 5, 1938, the son of the late Francis J. and Mary L. (O’Neil) Riley. Laurence was retired after many years of service at the New England Deaconess Association. He was a communicant of St. Augustine Church in Andover and the Andover Knights of Columbus # 1078. Laurence was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, class of 1955 and had served in the US Air Force.
He was the devoted brother of Helene E. and her husband William B. Roberts of Andover and uncle of M. Katherine Roberts, DVM of Unadilla, New York and Meghan E. Roberts of Cape Neddick, Maine.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 20 Highvale Lane, Andover, on January 5, 2010, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Calling hours were held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Monday, January 4, 2010, from 3 to 6 PM. Burial was in St. Augustine Cemetery, Andover.
