Jesup- Irma Reddish Blanton, age 79, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010 at her residence under the care of Hospice of South Georgia after an extended illness. She was born in McIntosh County and lived her entire life in Wayne County. Mrs. Blanton was an active member of Altamaha Baptist Church for over 40 years.
Surviving is her husband of 59 years, Willie S. Blanton of Jesup; one daughter: Vicki Blanton-Weaver and husband Danny of Breman; one son: Jerry W. Blanton and wife Harolyn of Odum; 4 grandchildren: James Kyle Ogden and wife Terra of Waynesboro, Christopher Sean Ogden and wife Katie of Odum, Carrie B. Peel and husband Rick of Jesup and Josh W. Blanton of Odum; 6 great grandchildren; two brothers: Cecil and wife Jeanine Reddish of Swainsboro and Sonny and wife Frances Reddish of Jesup; several nieces and nephews and other family members also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 2 pm from the Altamaha Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack Lee officiating.
Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday evening beginning at 6 pm at the funeral home.

Active Pallbearers will be Brad Reddish, Randy Purcell, Mickey Reddish, Brandon Purcell, Ricky Blanton and Gary Blanton.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of Hospice of South GA.
