Thomas G. Dyer Sr., 69, beloved husband and father, of Lowell, MA, died Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at the Integrated Health Services in Derry, NH. He was born in Waltham, MA on August 7, 1934, a son of the late John and Marcella (Farrell) Dyer Sr. He was a resident of Lowell for the past 33 years, formerly living in Stoneham, MA and Cambridge, MA. Mr. Dyer was educated in the Cambridge school system. He had been employed as a campus police officer at the Tewksbury Hospital in Tewksbury, MA. He was formerly employed as a campus police officer at the Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell. Mr. Dyer enjoyed spending time with his family and walking on the beach. He was a TV and movie enthusiast, enjoyed traveling and loved music.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys (Donelan) Dyer of Lowell, MA, four daughters, Christine A. Vaughn of Manchester, NH, Terri Kramer and her husband Christopher of Jacksonville, FL, Marianne Davidson and her husband John of Nashua, NH, Meg Trainor and her husband Brian of Nashua, four sons, Michael J. Dyer of Lowell, Thomas G. Dyer Jr. and Joanne Dubay of Chelmsford, MA, Joseph F. Dyer Sr. and his wife Mary of Derry, Edward D. Dyer of Lawrence, MA, 11 grandchildren, three brothers, Paul Dyer of Waltham, MA, George Dyer of Tewksbury, MA, Robert Dyer of Jacksonville, NC, many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother John Dyer Jr. and one sister Catherine Caverly.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Chapel, 90 Rogers St., Lowell, MA on Saturday, September 20th at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill of Greater Lowell, PO Box 692, Tyngsboro, MA 01879. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements.
