Ruth A. (Ellsworth) Lee, of Medford, died Saturday morning at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was 85.
Ruth was born and raised in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Walter and Helen (Taylor) Ellsworth. A Medford resident for over 68 years, Ruth was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish especially with the Mother’s Club. She was devoted to her large family and their many friends.
The beloved wife of the late Maurice “Mike” Lee, she leaves her children: Maureen Crowley Smith, Nancy Wallace, both of Medford, Michael Lee and his wife Rita of Ware, Richard Lee and his wife Cheryle, Edward Lee and his wife Elaine, James Lee and his wife Eileen all of Medford, John Lee of Lexington, Dennis Lee and his wife Lori of Reading. She was a loving grandmother to 20 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was a dear sister to Helen Downs and her husband Ned of Wilmington and the late Marilyn Lynch, Walter and Charles Ellsworth.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 3 – 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
