Obituary

Methuen, MA – John P. Rumore, 88, died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at the Prescott House Nursing Home in North Andover surrounded by his loving family and just 8 days after he celebrated his 88th birthday.
Born in Lawrence, John was the son of Joseph and Rosalia (Facella) Rumore. Mr. Rumore was a graduate of Lawrence High School class of “1940”. Upon graduation John enlisted into the US Coast Guard where he served his country during WWII.
He was a longtime resident of Methuen and a communicant of Saint Monica’s Church as well as a 50 year parishioner. For many years he was a supervisor for Stride Rite Shoe Company. John enjoyed golfing and years ago, was part of the St. Monica’s Bowling League. He loved to travel and especially loved visiting the casinos.
He was pre-deceased by his wife of 63 years, Antonette M. (Valentino) Rumore and will be sadly missed by his sons; John D. and his wife Susan Rumore, James J. and his wife Marialice Rumore, and Mark M. and his wife Mary Rumore, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by one brother, Joseph Rumore, and one sister Rita Benton.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 5-8 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday morning, January 6th, at 9 o’clock in Saint Monica’s Church with burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
