Jamie D. Poitras, 35, of Westport died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at home. Born in Fall River, son of Dennis A. and Patricia A. (King) Poitras of Westport, he was a lifelong resident of Westport. Mr. Poitras was employed by UMass Dartmouth and was a landscaper for W.S. Shepard of Westport and for Manchester Landscaping of Little Compton, RI. An avid hunter and outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and was a member of the High Hill Fox & Coon Club, Dartmouth.
Including his parents, survivors include his children: Jacob D. Poitras and Emily F. Poitras both of Swansea and their mother: Rachelle Todd of Swansea; 2 brothers: Jason R. Poitras of Fall River and Jeremy R. Poitras of Tiverton; a sister: Lisa M. Brandao of Tiverton; girlfriend: Marianne Lima of Dartmouth; 5 nieces: Nicole, Caitlin, Cheyenne, Emma and Olivia; 2 nephews: Shayn and Logan.
He was grandson of the late Robert J. King, Yvette M. (Trepanier) Kiley and Eugene A. and Emelia L. (Thibeault) Poitras.
Visitation to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday 5 – 8 P.M.
At the request of the family, funeral services will be private.
