Edward J. “Sonny” Dumoulin, 74, formerly of Old River Rd., Manville, died Wednesday evening surrounded by his family at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA. He was the loving husband of Janet J. (Marcil) Dumoulin. They were married on June 13, 1970.
Born in Taunton, MA, he was a son of the late Alexander and Jennifer (Seriva) Dumoulin. He was raised in Taunton and was a resident of Manville for the past 40 years.
Mr. Dumoulin proudly served in the US Air Force from 1957 to 1960.
Edward worked in the jewelry industry for several firms and was employed in the maintenance dept. at Madonna Manor in North Attleboro for over 15 years. He also worked for JC Penney until illness compelled him to retire.
Mr. Dumoulin was a member of AMVETS and enjoyed playing golf.
Sonny was a voracious reader and had a vast working knowledge particularly in history, politics, and current events
Sonny will be remembered as a kind man who was generous with his time and talent. A reserved man, Sonny was completely devoted to his family and gave freely of himself in caring for extended family in his usual quiet and unassuming manner.
In addition to his wife of 39 years, he is survived by a daughter, Michelle L. Chawkate, and her husband Mokhtar, of Tewksbury, MA. He was the brother of William Dumoulin of NH, Irene Fernandes, Mary Ann Marvel, and Lorraine Rodier, all of MA. and the late Richard Dumoulin and Jeannette Darling. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sarah and Adam Chawkate, both of Tewksbury, his aunt Theresa Marcil of Manville, and many nieces and nephews.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10:00 am in St. James Church, Division St. Manville. Burial with military honors will be in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Cancer Association, PO Box 3516, Oak Brook, IL. 60522. Arrangements are by the Menard Funeral Home, 71 Central St., Manville.
