Mary M. (Quental) Raposa, 99, of New Bedford died Thursday, December 31, 2009 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was wife of the late Manuel E. Raposa. Mrs. Raposa was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Joseph and Corrine (Medeiros) Quental. She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include 2 sons: Manuel J. Raposa of Westport and Ronald Raposa of FL; 3 daughters: Mary Lucano of FL, Dolores Silvia of Fall River and Virginia Cassell of FL; 2 brothers: Lawrence Quental of Somerset and Constantine Quental of FL; 3 sisters: Hilda Pavao of Fall River, Delores Brown of Westport and Lauriana Vieira of Somerset; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late Dennis, Manuel, Joseph and Gordon Quental, Irene Soares, Claudia Raposa and Emily Lynch.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be at 9:00 AM., Thursday, January 7, 2010 from the Potter Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Wednesday 5 – 8 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
