McLinden, Daniel J., 85, of Christine Avenue, Franklin, MA, died Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Marlboro Hospital. He was the husband of Anne M. (McCaffrey) McLinden.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Daniel and Amanda (Garreau) McLinden. He and his wife Anne resided in Larchmont, NY for 20 years at which time they retired to Massachusetts. He had been a resident of Franklin for 14 years.
Mr. McLinden was a graduate of the University of Florida. He was a Management Consultant, CPA. in the Management Consulting, Wall Street and Park Avenue, New York office of Peat, Marwick & Mitchell. He was a partner and director of all management consulting activities of the New York, Boston and Providence offices of Laventhol & Horwath, an international accounting and consulting firm. He served as a consultant to clients throughout a broad range of industries in the US, South America and Europe. He was the President of D. J. McLinden & Associates, Inc., a consulting firm formed in 1979. D. J. McLinden, Inc., and Ferax Inc., have an associate relationship in order to provide clients with the broadest possible diversification of experience, ie., consulting, general management, finance and M.I.S., (Systems Design thru Implementation Planning and Assistance) office in White Plains, NY. Mr. McLinden was a CPA. and a member of the AICPA and NY, MA and RI CPA State Societies. He was a Fellow of the RI Society of Certified Public Accountants and a member of The American Institute of Industrial Engineers.
He is also survived by his children, Alice Babst, Daniel, Michael and Marlene McLinden, and Joanna Remson; nine grandchildren, 4 great grandchilren, a brother, Armand McLinden and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was the father of the late Kathy McLinden and brother of the late Dolores Arcaro and Margaret Yederes.
Funeral was private. Visitation was respectfully omitted.
