Ethel G. (Wadlin) Green, age 83, born in Lawrence, MA; wife of her late, beloved husband of 52 years, Francis A. Green, passed away at GreenBriar Terrace Health Care, New Year’s Eve.
She is survived by: four daughters, Cheryl Boucher of Seabrook, NH; Suzanne Senter of Errol, NH; Deborah McGrath of Francestown, NH; and Jill Farwell of North Stratford, NH; her sister, Joan Miller of Merrimack, NH; as well as 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
In Massachusetts and New Hampshire, Ethel attended four high schools and graduated from Salem High School; she was the only freshman on the varsity basketball team. A consummate mother and grandmother, she enjoyed being with her family and friends. Ethel and Francis enjoyed quiet times and family times, together. They were especially fond of walks on the beach and visiting the White Mountains. Ethel, an avid reader and Salem Library regular, also enjoyed walks with friends.
She was an employee of Grant’s Department Store, and a retiree from Cherry-Webb-Touraine (CWT Specialties Stores), and Alluring Lingerie, in Salem, NH. She and Francis resided, over the years, in Salem and Derry—her last residence being Telfer Circle.
There are no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 1:30 pm at The Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main St., Salem, NH The burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem.
