Lillian Bornstein (Zigman) of Chelsea, Peabody, and Swampscott died on December 31, 2009. She was 89 years old. Lillian was the beloved wife of the late Irving Bornstein.
Lillian was born in Boston and was a resident of Chelsea for the first 71 years of her life. She attended the Chelsea schools and high school. Lillian was very involved in the Jewish community as a Past President at the Chelsea Hebrew School, a member of Temple Ner Tamid in Peabody, and a Past President of the Sisterhood at the Shurtleff Street Synagogue. Lillian was also a life member at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Roslindale, a member of the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home Women’s Auxiliary, and the Jewish Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Lillian was the devoted mother of Barry A. Bornstein and his wife Valerie and Marjorie Reason and her husband Robert. She was the dear sister of Rena Mullin. Lillian was the loving grandmother of Matthew and Marisa.
Services at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave. (Cary Sq.) Chelsea, on Monday, January 4, at 12:00 Noon. Interment in Everett. Memorial week at the home of Marjorie and Robert Reason through Sunday, January 10 from 2-7 PM. On Friday, January 8th the hours are 2-4 PM only and on Saturday, January 9th only between 5-7 PM.
