TEWKSBURY - Helen C. (Harding) Sullivan, 82, the retired department head for the BusinessOffice at Tewksbury Hospital, died unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, Sept. 17, at SaintsMemorial Medical Center in Lowell. She was the wife of Joseph P. Sullivan, who died in 1977.
She was born Dec. 2, 1920, a daughter of the late Arthur and Grace (Billman) Harding. She wasraised in Arlington, and graduated Arlington High School. She had lived in Tewksbury since 1953.
She retired from Tewksbury Hospital as the office manager in the Business Office in 1985, after 25 of service. In her earlier years she worked as a telephone operator for NewEngland Telephone.
She was active in St. William’s Church, and was a member of the church’s Sodality. She was amember of the Association of Federal, State, County and Municipal Employees union. In herearly years, she was also active in youth sports in Tewksbury and a member of the Little LeagueLadies Auxillary.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carole and her husband Richard Sullivan of Dracut;four sons and three daughters-in-law, Edward and his wife Maryan (Pike) Sullivan of Chester,NH, Robert and his wife Pamela (Casey) Sullivan of Lowell, Paul Sullivan of Tewksbury, Davidand his wife Colleen (May) Sullivan of Atkinson, NH; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and herhusband Carmelo Conte of Cohasset; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Shirley Harding ofHarwich, seven grandchildren, Justin, Michael, Linda, Amy, Joseph, Meghan and ThomasSullivan, and was expecting two great grandchildren.
She was also the sister of the late Arthur Harding, Phyllis Valliere, H. Joseph Harding, and EdwardHarding.
Her Funeral Mass was held Saturday, Sept. 20, in St. William’s Church Interment was in Tewksbury Cemetery.
