Obituary

WORCESTER-Alfred Sanderson, 100, of Worcester, died Wednesday, December 30th in Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. His wife of 55 years, Janice E. (Brooks) Sanderson, died in 1999. He leaves his son, Phillip A. Sanderson and his wife Beverley of Worcester; two grandsons, Steven and his wife Lisa Sanderson and Scott Sanderson and his fiancée Michelle; three step grandchildren, Marci, Michael, and Michell Naple and Matt; three great granddaughters, Chelsea, Lindsey and Nicole Sanderson; seven step great grandchildren, Cierra, Blayne, Michael, Jr., Domenic, Tiana, Marianna, and Tatianna; and a close family friend, Virginia Hakala of Worcester. His sister, Irene Kingsley, predeceased him.
Mr. Sanderson was born in England, the son of William and Florence (Forster) Sanderson. He was an accountant for the R.C. Taylor Trust Company and drove for the Worcester Center for Living and Aging. Mr. Sanderson was a former member of All Saints Episcopal Church. He enjoyed playing the organ, which he had been playing at the Grafton Senior Center weekly, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The funeral is Tuesday, January 5th with a service at 11:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, January 4th from 5:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
